i didn’t set out to do this work.

I lived it.

In 2016, my body gave out, in a home we didn’t know was slowly breaking me.
A hidden leak. Invisible mold.
And a quiet unraveling that touched every corner of my life.

Within a year, I lost my independence.
My job. My income. My brand new car.
Nearly everything I owned.

But the deepest losses weren’t things.
They were the pieces of me I couldn’t hold onto.

I lost the chance to give my husband the child we dreamed of.
I lost my identity as a mother, a wife, a friend.
I lost my place in the world.
I lost trust—in people, in systems, in God.
And I nearly lost custody of my children, accused of making it all up.

Mold illness wasn’t “real,” they said.
But I was living proof that it was.

At my worst, I couldn’t walk to the bathroom without help.
I felt like a burden. A ghost inside my own life.
And then I lost something even harder to name:
My faith.
In love.
In protection.
In the idea that anyone was coming to save us.

That’s when I understood why people give up.
Because the weight of-it-all can break something inside you.

But what broke me also woke me.
And in that collapse, a door opened.

I didn’t get into this work to build a career.
I studied mold to survive.
To protect my children.
To prove I wasn’t crazy.
To fight back.

Now, that fight has become a mission.

To give others what I needed.
To show you what I couldn’t see.
To make sure no one else feels as alone as I did in that bed.

What Came Next Wasn’t Luck.

It was work.
Hard, relentless work to rebuild a life, and create something that didn’t exist when I needed it most.

I never imagined mold would leave me bedridden for 18 months.

I thought mold just meant allergies. I never knew it could make my memory fade, leave me nodding out at my desk, cause sudden weight gain, or have me pulling out handfuls of hair in the shower. I was so conditioned to believe mold "wasn't that serious" that it took over 20 doctors & more than a year to uncover the truth.

We never saw anything obvious. No smell. No visible growth.

Our house was clean. We were health-conscious.

But a long-term leak had been hiding in our walls and crawlspace, feeding black mold that made its way into our HVAC and our lives.

I had no idea that condensation alone could grow pathogenic mold in the right conditions.

No one told me the air in my home could be the thing hurting me.

and that’s the problem.

When mold, mycotoxins, and other byproducts of water damage are inhaled, ingested, or absorbed, they can harm anyone.
You don’t need to be “sensitive” for your body to break down under the weight of environmental stress.

It just shows up differently for each person:
fatigue, pain, rashes, brain fog, hormone shifts, emotional instability, immune dysfunction.
And most of the population is still completely totally unaware of this.

That’s not your fault.
It’s a knowledge gap, one that leaves far too many people suffering in silence, passed between doctors, doubted by loved ones, and told “everything looks normal.”

the reality of dealing with mold

Whether you're just discovering mold or trying to fix a failed remediation, you're likely facing some real challenges.

From conflicting advice to questioning your own judgment, these obstacles are common and legitimate. The good news? Understanding these challenges is the first step to overcoming them.

You find out—or suspect—that mold might be making you sick.
You start researching. You ask for referrals. You hire someone local.

And suddenly, you’re in the thick of it.

The inspector says everything looks “normal.”
Your air samples come back clear, even though your body says otherwise.
The remediation company wants to fog and spray, promising no demo and “non-toxic” products.
And when it doesn’t work, you’re the one left holding the bag: confused, exhausted, and still symptomatic.

This is the mold maze.
A fragmented, outdated system that prioritizes aesthetics over health outcomes and root-cause solutions.

And for people like you, people who actually care about health, clean living, and getting to the bottom of things, it’s infuriating.

You’re not imagining how hard this is.
You’re navigating an unregulated industry full of conflicting opinions, low standards, and professionals who aren’t trained to protect your health.

That’s why we exist.
